Kj Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions add length, thickness and fullness to your natural eyelash. Single synthetic lashes are applied "one by one" to your existing natural eyelashes. Our lashes never come in contact with the skin. Kj uses a Medical Grade Adhesive made in the USA which is used to bond the synthetic lash to your natural lash.

Extensions come in various curls, lengths, colors and diameters. Kj extensions can be worn for the following: sleep, showering, swimming, beach, yoga etc. However, excessive exposure to oil can weaken adhesive bond. Eyelash Extensions differ from "fake" "false" or "flalsies".

The average time for the initial application for a full set of eyelash extensions takes about an hour and a half to two hours. NOTE: We can only attach extensions to the amount of natural lashes you have. The more natural lashes you have, the more we can attach and the fuller it appears.

Eyelash extensions may last from four to eight weeks, depending on the cycle of your hair growth. While the synthetic lash is placed directly upon the natural lash, they both will fall off naturally as your lashes cycle out and regrow. (see below for more info on Eyelash Growth Cycle)

Lash extensions are an extremely tedious process for the technician. However, the results should look very natural. Eyelashes should never be glued together, feel heavy or be clumpy. If you are currently experiencing any of the mentioned above....run. Run now. If eyelash extensions are not applied properly, you run a high risk of damaging your natural lashes. Damage consist of: Loss of natural lashes temporarily or even permanently and natural eyelashes may become sparse and thin. Eyelash extensions have been around since the late 1990s, used mostly by fashion models and Hollywood. However, since the early 2000s, many salons have offered this service.

Kj SILK LASHES

Most technicians use nylon based lash, not Kj. Kimmie Jacob uses a Prime Silk Lash that is light, soft and natural looking leaving your extensions feeling "barely there". Lashes are carefully placed one upon another without sticking or gluing together.

Kj Authentic Mink (UPON REQUEST)

Mink lashes are available, and are sustainably harvested from live minks in the United States. The minks are combed out, their hair sanitized and the individual hairs are used. No minks have been harmed :)

Color Lashes

Most people choose black lashes. Have a little fun and switch it up a little. Add some color to your life and lashes. Kj offers the following colors: brown, red, green, purple, pink, blue and maroon. Colored lashes are good for accents and are very subtle indoors. Outdoors...a different story. When the sun hits them they are more noticeable with a slight glow to them which looks amazing!

Eyelash and Hair Growth

Although it may not seem like it, hair growth is a preset function of the body. Every hair on your body follows a specific growth cycle and will grow to a specific length. Hair follows a three-phase growth cycle and eventually falls out, which is typically nothing to worry about. In fact, body hair, including eyelashes, completely replaces itself every few years.

Anagen (Growth) Phase

The anagen phase is also called the growth phase. This is the phase when lashes are actively growing, and it lasts between 30 and 45 days. Only about 40 percent of the upper lashes and 15 percent of the lower lashes are in the anagen phase at any one time. Each lash will grow to a specific length and then stop.

Catagen (Transition) Phase

The catagen phase is also known as the transition phase. During this phase, the lash stops growing and the hair follicle shrinks. If an eyelash falls out or is plucked out during this phase, it won't grow back right away because the follicle needs to complete the catagen phase before it can move on to the next one. This phase lasts between two and three weeks.

Telogen (Resting) Phase

The telogen phase is also referred to as the resting phase. This phase can last more than 100 days before the eyelash falls out and a new one begins to grow. Because each individual lash is in its own phase of the growing cycle, it's normal for a few lashes to fall out most days. It typically takes between four and eight weeks to fully replace an eyelash.
